I was born Deng Garang Akech Kuchin1977in Paweel, Paliau Payam of Twic East County, Jonglei State, South Sudan. I am a Dinka by ethnicity.
I am best explained by my background. All life journeyI underwent, to begin with, traces back to my birth and notably before I received God.

I was born to unchristian parents. My father and mother names are Garang Akech Kuch and ArokAwich Daw. Both parents were later baptised. My mother was baptised in the 1990s and named Monica and my father Garang was baptised and named Abraham in 2003 after I visited him. I influenced him to believe in God and he was baptised by Ven. Joseph Ajok Garang.
My parents broughtme up until the age of nine yearswhen I got recruited in 1988with my sister Elizabeth Amer Garang during the Second Sudanese Civil War aspart of the Red Army to Western Ethiopia. We settled there atDimma Refugee Camp.I became known as Jacob Deng Garang Akech at baptism on December 24,1988in Dimma.
My father was married to four wives with my mother being the last wife. His four wives formed a familyof 25 Children. And from my mother, we are two brothers and three sisters with me being in the second position.Fortunately, all of them arealive and married. My mother is alive and now lives in South Sudan. My father passed away on October 13, 2008, at the age of 106. The burial of Abraham Garang was conducted by Abuna JosephAjok.
Both Abraham Garang Akech Kuch and Monica ArokAtuich Dau Denghail from Ajuong community. Garang is from Abiong and Arokditis from Ayoliel sections.
